Okay, I thought I was missing something. I read this on CBS Sports today:
Vogelbach will unsurprisingly remain in New York after a strong showing with the Mets in the second half of the 2022 campaign. After being traded from the Pirates to the Mets on July 22, the slugger slashed .255/.393/.436 with six homers, 25 RBI and 18 runs scored over 55 contests.
Since when is that kind of slash line and associated numbers "strong"? A power guy who is only averaging 2.5 HRs a month doesn't seem very good in my opinion. The only thing I can find to make the option worth it is that it is only costing them $1.5M.
