Other than pitching, the Tigers minor league system is sub-par and they're development of all players is terrible. Honestly, if I were the Tigers, I sit out this offseason other than filling empty spots with short term deals or potential trade bait. The team is not even close to ready to compete in the AL Central as three other teams already are. I'd like to see the Tigers spend a lot of resources on fixing their internal pipelines (development, coordinators, scouting, analytics, etc.).

I'm not Scott Harris though, just a sideline GM.
Interesting take. I haven't seen him and apparently he's unimpressive at 3B, but his 2B stats have been pretty good of late, albeit he took a step back at Erie. Small sample size (30 games) there, though.

Put it together with the year he just had at bat (.295/.369/.534, accelerating with the promotion to AA) and I'd at least have hope. Maybe he's hit his limit, but maybe he's going to be better than Schoop, at least.

(And more bang for the buck than Kolten Wong at $9 million or whatever he's asking.)

I wouldn't write off a 22-year-old coming off of his best season. That said, perhaps I've missed something, as I'm only going from the stats.
