Of course it does, many times. A lot of people don't put in the real sustained effort it often takes to do something well. I'm not necessarily the best writer, mind you, but I often do try to do the best I can with one of my projects, no matter what it is, or what it has been in the past. I try not to rush chapters needlessly, especially when my stories may have somewhat complex plots and all for them, to be sure. And it often takes time to make sure they read as well as they can here, too, for that matter.
That's no doubt why a lot of supposedly can't-miss players never actually panned out well enough in real life, in various sports, I'm sure. The history of many sports is often littered with draft busts, while many lower-drafted and less-known players turn out to do quite well, much to many people's great surprise at times. And the same principle goes or has gone, often, for many other occupations in life, as well, as you and I and many others no doubt know in our lives, or have known in them. Right, EC? CD out.
