First off: FHM9 is amazing. I've been playing the series since FHM6, logging several thousand hours of gameplay. The team does a great job and are really good about listening to our feedback. I appreciate you guys so much!!!

I have some comments below, but the thing I find myself really wanting is a slight overhaul to the contract system. My suggestion is to have all negotiations take place with their agent with them giving you more feedback on where their client stands with other team's offers, etc. There is even room for agents to mislead you about other offers their client is seeing. They could articulate something we see in the scouting report now about if their client wants to stay with you or is more inclined to move on, so you would need to pony up a bit extra to keep them from hitting the FA market.

One of the things this could help fix is my frustration while playing the waiting game on a FA to see if their asking price will drop before they sign elsewhere. Having some indication they are finally getting some offers in early August would let me know it's time to negotiate versus a guy suddenly signing somewhere without warning.

This isn't perfect, but you could just mess around with a trade until the scout appraisal says, "they will likely accept," then use force trade.

Again, this isn't perfect, but if you just choose the can't be fired option, you can more or less just do the bare minimum with to the financial stuff.

Strong agree! It would be awesome to have some basic options to solve problems. Some possible options off the top of my head:

*Bench the player for X games. The rest of the team could "see" this and know you aren't tolerating BS.
*Comment on a "locker room situation" in a post-game presser to send a message.
*Ask your captain to talk to the players or hold a players-only meeting to sort things out.
*Have yourself or an assistant or even the owner - if the player has been with the team for years, maybe - call a meeting with the player/s.

We sorta have this with the mental, physical, offensive, and defensive training options. A more in-depth system possibly with trainers and coaches who are better or worse in more specific areas could be good, though.

I know Jeff explained previously that there is a system for selecting which attributes get improved for players so it isnt totally random, would be a nice idea if the tactic you're playing could also play into that.
I really like the idea of a player's skills either improving or showing atrophy if they play a role long enough. For example, you put Jonathan Marchessault in a more defensive back-checking role for maybe 100 games and his ability to get open or shoot accurately drops a bit while his checking, defensive awareness, and positioning skills go up a point.

On that same token, it would be interesting to see a rookie put in a sniper role, for example, see their shooting accuracy stat increase at the expense of defensive abilities.
