IL North

Dublin Shamrocks
Established in 1925, 35 playoff appearances, 4 championships
Originally from Copenhagen, they relocated to Ireland in 1961. Since the 70’s, the Shamrocks have been one of the most successful teams in the International League. They last won a championship in 2009, however they consistently made the playoffs. They won the pennant in 2022, however they have been swept by the Rome Emperors.
Star player: 33-year-old SP Edward Knoller from Germany.

London Stars
Established in 1971, 32 playoff appearances, 5 championships
The younger of the London teams, they quickly established themselves as one of the most competitive teams in the league. They missed the playoffs only 6 times in the 21st century, and won their 5th championship in 2014.
Star player: 30-year-old SP Gatis Mazais from Latvia.

Luxembourg Dukes
Established in 1961, 11 playoff appearances, 2 championships
Representing the smallest nation in the EBL, the Dukes struggled for long periods of their history. They last won the championship in 2007. They appeared in the playoffs in 2021, however in 2022 they were only 4th in IL North.
Star player: 27-year-old CF Justin Hogedoon from the Netherlands.

Manchester Roses
Established in 1981, 5 playoff appearances, no championships
The only team in the IL North without a championship, the Roses are a historically struggling team. They finished last in the division in 2022.
Star player: 28-year-old SP Mate Mandic from Croatia.

Rotterdam Admirals
Established in 2011, 3 playoff appearances, 1 championship
One of the two teams to expand the league in 2011, the Admirals won the championship during their first playoff appearance in 2018. They played in the playoffs 3 times in last 5 years.
Star player: 30-year-old 3B Shela Macharia from Kenya.

IL South

Athens Flames
Established in 1961, 4 playoff appearances, 1 championship
Originally the IL counterpart to the Emperors, they failed to compete for the share of the market, which forced them to relocate to Greece in 1974. The Flames are a historically underachieving team, they have however won the championship in 1985, their second trip to the playoffs.
Star player: 25-year-old C Niko Stephenson from Scotland.

Bordeaux Waves
Established in 1927, 27 playoff appearances, 9 championships
Historically the most successful team in the International League. Enjoyed a period of dominance in 2010’s, placing 1st in the division 5 times in a row and winning 3 championships. However, they’re currently in the middle of a painful rebuild, finishing 5th last two years, and winning only 57 games in 2022, the least in the EBL.
Star player: 33-year-old 1B Stew Williams from the USA.

Madrid Hawks
Established in 1976, 22 playoff appearances, 3 championships
In the recent years the Hawks dominated the division, winning it 3 times in last 4 seasons. One of the teams most often appearing in the playoffs, winning their last championship in 2012.
Star player: 29-year-old SS Bertrand Doyon from France.

Milan Zephyrs
Established in 1976, 21 playoff appearances, 1 championship
Historically one of the most competitive teams in IL South. Between 1983 and 2012 they missed the playoffs only 9 times. However, they’ve been struggling to make the postseason in the past decade, not appearing since 2012.
Star player: 26-year-old 3B Marcin Zajac from Poland.

Paris Angels
Established in 1903, 17 playoff appearances, 1 championship
Originally from Brussels, they moved to their current home as the second team in Paris in 1977. Despite being one of the three original teams to establish ILoB, they failed to replicate the success of their fellow original teams, Lions and Monarchs. Their only championship came in 1954, while they were still playing in Brussels.
Star player: 27-year-old 2B Everardo Rios from Spain.

IL East

Berlin Bears
Established in 1994, 12 playoff appearances, no championships
Despite not winning a championship, the Bears have been a competitive team in recent times, making playoffs 7 times in the last 12 years. They have won the pennant three times: in 2011, 2020, and 2021.
Star player: 30-year-old SP Josue Gonzalez from Spain.

Copenhagen Sirens
Established in 1946, 16 playoff appearances, no championships
Originally in Liverpool, they relocated to Copenhagen, which was recently left behind by the Shamrocks, in 1966. While a successful team in Liverpool, winning 5 pennants in the post-war period, they didn’t replicate the success in Denmark, only winning the pennant once, in 1979. They currently experience the longest playoff drought in the International League, last securing the playoff berth in 1991.
Star player: 22-year-old 3B Ville Jarvinen from Finland.

Hamburg Cruisers
Established in 1912, 26 playoff appearances, 6 championships
The Cruisers claim the legacy of the first ILoB champions, Hamburg Hansa. However, the current Hamburg Cruisers team spent most of its existence in Amsterdam, where it won all of its 6 titles. Having relocated in 1985, they never captured the same level of success as before the move to Germany.
Star player: 32-year-old SP Ivan Simek from Czechia.

Helsinki Blizzard
Established in 1981, 17 playoff appearances, 2 championships
Both northernmost and easternmost team in the league, the Blizzard are isolated from the rest of the league. They had two periods of dominance, first in the late 80’s, when they won both of their championships, second in the 00’s, when they won their division 5 times in a row.
Star player: 27-year-old LF Minao Kaizu from Japan.

Prague Elephants
Established in 1997, 11 playoff appearances, no championships
Successors to the successful Bohemia team of the pre-war era, Prague has rejoined the league in 1997. They are consistently appearing in the playoffs, but they secured the pennant only once: in 2008.
Star player: 39-year-old SP Jeff Greenleaf from England.
