I was curious so I did as TigerFan said for
Gwynn in '84 and I got the below. Notice his BABIP is high, but his avoid K is even higher, while his eye is relatively low (he lead the league in OBP only once while 8 times for BA).
It made me wonder, who has lead the league in OBP more times than any other? I don't know the answer to that, but I do know
Ted Williams has the highest career OBP. So I looked him up and he lead the league in OBP a stunning 12 times and that's with him losing his 23-26 years to the year! That's nuts! He must have that record too. Watching him play must have been something like us marvelling at what Shohei is doing. I'll attach how his 1939 imported.
