I noticed that whoever ends up in last place in the Czech Extraliga is straight up relegated and the winner of Chance Liga playoffs is promoted.

Last season the last place team did indeed get relegated, but this season the last place team is supposed to play the winner of the Chance liga playoffs in a best of seven promotion/relegation series.
