That actually looks like something going wrong with the junior loans. If you check their history, were they both in the QMJHL/WHL through the season that just ended? Doesn't seem to be any note that they were returned to the NHL team at the end of 23-24 like they should have been.

Yeah, both of them were. Now that i checked other players who were also released all of them were signed/loaned and released afterwards without returning to team so that must be it
