Mankato, Minnesota, is located at, or near, the bend of the Minnesota River, hk. Berserkers seems to fit rather well with the major cultural influence of Scandinavians in many areas of Minnesota, at least early in its known history, I believe, and especially when it comes to immigrants to Minnesota and certain nearby states, at least. IF you'd maybe want another good enough suggestion for Mankato that you could eventually use for another team of any kind that's actually based there, might I then perhaps suggest the nickname of Riverbenders for possible use, for example?
