1901 MLB All-Star Game

The American League jumped out to an early 8 to 0 lead after 3 innings and then had to hang on as the National League stormed back to make it a competitive game. In the end though, the AL prevailed over the NL 9 to 5 to pick up the All-Star Game win.

Detroit Tigers righfielder Charlie Hickman was named MVP after going 2 for 4 with a Homerun, Double, 2 Runs, and 3 RBIs. The Boston Americans were well represented, with Fred Clarke hitting 2 for 3, Double, 2 Runs; John Farrell going 1 for 2 with a Double, 1 Run, and 1 RBI; Noodles Hahn earning the win, and Jesse Tannehill pitching a scoreless inning and going 1 for 1 with 2 RBIs at the plate. New York Giants first baseman Sam Crawford had a nice day (2 for 4, Triple, 1 Run, 4 RBIs) in the losing effort.
