Cocoa Blasts Party Boys, Deathclaws Take Game 3, 6-5
The University Point Deathclaws have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, winning 6-5 at Gwinnett Brewery Park today. Deathclaws first baseman Barker Cocoa went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Deathclaws to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Sole Survivor Series.
The Deathclaws took a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Facing Nordhagen Beach hurler Tommy Beach with two outs, Cocoa hit a 2-run home run.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Cocoa told the University Point Herald.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park.

Almost There: Nordhagen Beach On Cusp of Sole Survivor Series Triumph After 6-2 Win
Riding the 3-hit performance of right fielder Jonathan Angelou, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got a road win against the University Point Deathclaws, 6-2, in Game 4 of the Sole Survivor Series today. Angelou hit 3 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring three times for the Party Boys, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Angelou, who finished 5th in the NCA in wins above replacement with 6.0 in 2302, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Party Boys into the lead, 3-1.
Angelou said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park.
Special Notes: Jonathan Angelou ties the NCA playoff game record for home runs with 3. That record was set in Game 1 by Party Boys teammate Dustin Mart.

Deathclaws third baseman Ryan Morris went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The win cuts the deficit facing the Deathclaws to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Sole Survivor Series.
The Deathclaws took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Facing Nordhagen Beach hurler Beachboy Nut with one out, Morris hit a 2-run single.
"It was a solid team effort," said Morris after the game.
Game 6 is scheduled for Saturday at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Nordhagen Beach.
