It took sending the #3 overall prospect (Jack McAleese) and an intriguing 24-year old shortstop (Rudy Hulswitt) to Brooklyn Superbas, but the Detroit Tigers were able to land outfielder Jack McCarthy to strengthen an already potent lineup. On the year, McCarthy has a slash line of .311/.350/.391 with 118 OPS+ and 1.9 WAR.
