Trading Season

As we draw close to the trading deadline, teams are making moves to either shore-up a playoff push or cutting bait and gearing up for the future. Here are the latest deals:

Washington Senators send 3rd baseman Wid Conroy (#84 ranked prospect) to the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitcher Frank Kitson (13 wins; 3.5 WAR; 101 ERA+).

Philadelphia Phillies dealt pitcher Bill Bernhard (9 wins; 0.7 WAR; 107 ERA+) to the Boston Beaneaters in exchange for 20-year old pitcher Joe Stanley (#35 ranked prospect).

Milwaukee Brewers moved pitcher Gus Weyhing (reserve roster, no playing time) and George McBride (0.4 WAR; 31 OPS+; .173/.219/.215) to the Cincinnati Reds for Bill Richardson (#40 ranked prospect). Not sure why the Reds made this trade, they are getting very little value in return.
