Games 105-107: Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Americans
Boston took 2 of 3 games from the Orioles. Great to see the team playing so well, but the surge may be a little too late to catch the Tigers.
Game 105: This was a disappointing outing for Boston pitcher Fred Klobedanz, as the Orioles (41-64) topped the Americans (60-45) by a score of 8 to 2. Klobedanz (14-11) lasted 7 2/3 innings, allowing 8 runs (5 earned) on 10 hits and 4 walks for a Game Score of 33 in the loss. Effie Norton came in to relieve, finishing up the final 1 1/3 innings. Christy Mathewson (9-17) picked up the win, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks, striking out 5 for a Game Score of 72. Baltimore's offense was led by Billy Maloney (3 for 5, Double, 1 Run, 1 RBI), Harry Davis (2 for 5, 1 Run, 2 RBIs), Jesse Burkett (2 for 4, 2 Runs, 1 Walk), and Roy Thomas (2 for 4, 2 Runs, 1 RBI, 1 Walk).

Game 106: Trailing by a score of 4 to 2 heading into the bottom of the 9th inning, Boston (61-45) stormed back to tie the game and send it into extra innings were they topped Baltimore (41-65) 6 to 4 following the dramatic walk-off homerun by Fred Clarke. Noodles Hahn (17-12) picked up the win, allowing 4 runs (1 earned) while striking out 6 for a Game Score of 73. Jesse Hoffmeister, John Farrell, Frank Chance, and Win Mercer each had 2 hits for the Americans. Game 107: A rather uneventful game that saw Boston (62-45) get out to an early lead and do just enough to get a 4 to 3 win over the Orioles (41-66). Jesse Tannehill (17-9) picked up the win by tossing a complete-game 7 hitter in which he allowed 3 earned runs while striking out 6; Game Score 67. The Americans offense came from Fred Clarke (1 for 3, Triple, 1 Run, 1 RBI, 1 Walk), Jesse Hoffmeister (1 for 2, Double, 2 Runs), and John Farrell (1 for 3, 1 Run, 1 RBI, 1 Walk).
