Making his 2nd title defense in Puerto Rico, big punching Alberto Machado dropped Hector Luis Garcia in the 2nd for a 2 count.
Hector learned his lesson & from that point forward was much more cautious & appeared to outbox the dangerous champ. Then in the 10th, Hector suffered a severe cut over his right eye which angered the challenger & he landed a 1 punch KO left cross right on the button ending matters at 2:37 of the round!
2 of the cards had Alberto up: 87-83, 86-85 & 84-86.
Hector had the edge in PL: 203 (28%) to 180 (25%)
