Game 111: Chicago White Sox vs. Boston Americans
Boston closed out the month of July with the start of a series against the Chicago White Sox.
Game 111: This was a tough fought game that featured a combined 24 hits without an extra-bases hit. Boston (65-46) built a small lead early on and then held on to a 2 to 1 win over the White Sox (49-62). Jesse Tannehill (18-9) earned the win allowing 1 earned run on 11 hits and 1 walk; Game Score of 64. Chicago pitcher Brickyard Kennedy (8-4) took the loss allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 11 hits and 2 walks over 7 innings; Game Score of 50. Reliever George "Nig" Cuppy pitched the final inning. Chicago was led by Mike Grady (3 for 5, 1 Run, 1 Stolen Base) and John Dobbs (2 for 5).
