Trades around the League
Below are a few of the interesting trades that took place recently:
-Buffalo traded Peyton Krebs to Edmonton for a 2nd round pick
Sabres has Krebs buried in the AHL for some reason
-Calgary traded Oliver Kylington to Chicago for a 2nd round pick
Strange move from the Flames as he had 16 goals and 56 points on D while logging 20min a night last year (only making $2.5m)
He is a pending UFA and had a really nice year with the Hawks. Someone we might target this offseason
-Carolina traded a 2nd round pick to Ottawa for Anton Forsberg
They still have Raanta and Kochetkov in the AHL, odd decision
-Colorado traded Bowen Byram to Philly for a 3rd round pick
We would have made this trade in a heartbeat. Avs must be up against the cap and had to move Byran to activate someone from the injured list.
-Dallas traded a 2nd round pick to New York for Casey Cizikas
I like this pickup, but don't really like the asking price
-Montreal traded a 3rd round pick to Toronto for Michael Bunting
-Montreal traded a 6th round pick to Toronto for Justin Holl
These trades happened after the preseason and didn't really move the needle for the Habs.
-Nashville traded (the rights to) Tanner Jeannot to Toronto for a 2nd round pick
Really liked this pickup for the Leafs
-New York Rangers traded Vitali Kravtsov to Vegas for a 2nd round pick
Odd move for Vegas for a guy to play on their 4th line
-Pittsburgh trade Bryan Rust to Toronto for Ty Voit (5th round pick in 2021)
Rust has 4 more years with a cap hit around $5m and had 44pts in 50 games with Pitt
-Tampa traded a 2nd round pick to Toronto for Denis Malgin
Another overpay for a bottom 6 / 4th line guy
-Toronto traded Calle Jarnkrok to Vancouver for a 3rd round pick
Kyle Dubas did some roster cleanup early on in the season
-Winnipeg traded Dylan Samberg to Florida for Alex Killorn
Strange part here was the Jets resigned Killorn for $4m after he signed for $750k before the season
