World Series Game 2

Game 2: A nice bounce-back game for the Beaneaters (1-1), as they jumped out to an early lead and never locked back; cruising to a 7 to 0 win over the Tigers (1-1).

Boston pitcher Pete Dowling (1-0) held the opposition to just 5 harmless hits (all singles) while striking out 5 on a total of 104 pitches for a Game Score of 82. Togie Pittinger (0-1) was saddled with the loss after giving up 7 runs (5 earned) on 12 hits and 3 walks, striking out 8 on 181 total pitches; Game Score of 44.

The Beaneaters got nice offensive production from Sam Dungan (2 for 5, Triple, 1 Run, 1 RBI), Sammy Strang (2 for 4, 2 RBIs, 1 Walk), Jimmy Williams (2 for 4, 1 Run, 1 RBI), and Elmer Heidrick (2 for 5, Double, 1 Run, 1 RBI). The Tigers lone bright spot was Hobe Ferris (2 for 3).
