World Series Game 5
Game 5: While the Beaneaters put the ball in play with 10 hits, 2 walks, and a hit batsman they could not muster a single run against the Tigers. In the end, Detroit (4-1) topped Boston (1-4) by a score of 4 to 0 to win the World Series.
Togie Pittinger (1-1) picked up the win by not allowing any runs, despite giving up 10 hits and 2 walks for a Game Score of 69. Pete Dowling (1-1) took the loss when giving up 4 runs (3 earned) on 10 hits and 1 walk; Game Score of 58.
Tom O'Brien had a tremendous day at the plate with a 3 for 3 day (Double, 1 Run) for the Tigers. In the loss, Jack Warner (3 for 4, Double) and Bill Hallman (2 for 3) played well.
