Trade Lookback - Cy Young
A look back to see how the Cy Young trade panned out:
Boston picked up Cy Young from the Pirates in exchange for Dick Padden, Danny Friend, Ike Fisher, a 4th round, 7th round, and 12th round draft pick in 1902.
Young was a reliable 3rd starter (border line 2nd) throughout the year, putting up 6.1 WAR on his way to a 21 win season. Padden had 96 PA with a -0.1 WAR, Friend had a respectable 9-5 season in 25 games (15 starts) and 0.8 WAR, and Fisher had just 2 PA.
Winner: Boston
