May 2303 - Season Pass Association

Nuka News Update

Reporting on the NWL, NWLB, and APYL Leagues

by Evan Guy

Cherry Tops to End April

They have struggled the past two season after winning the Nuka Series in 2300, but the Cherry Ghoulrillas are again sitting on top of the Nuka Word League. With a 7-2 start, the Ghoulrillas have burst ahead of the Dark Bloodworms and stand three games ahead of defending champions, the Victory Cave Crickets.

The main reason behind the success is a stellar start on offense. 3B Andy Knickson, a second-year player, has been insane. Knickson is hitting .455 in the first nine games with two home runs and seven RBI. After Knickson, three other players have begun the season batting over .300 and having multiple home runs: RF Bryan Madsen (.343/3/8), 1B Carlos Aguilar (.346/3/6), and SS Mike Blackheart (.310/2/7).

While 3.39 as a Starters ERA is not bad, the Ghoulrillas are only third in the league. It is only that high because of SP Khalil Brite's (0-1, 10.80) bad start. Other than Brite, Joe Penaltybox (2-0, 1.09), Mike Coombaya (1-0, 3.75), and Travis Armstrong (2-0, 2.81) are doing just fine.

Standings

Top Players

NWL - RF Sam Noob, Victory - 11/24 (.458), 3 HR, 6 RBI

APL - 1B Clap Homestead, Dry Rock Gulch Convicts (Dark) - 12/22 (.545), 2 HR, 7 RBI

BBL: Player Highlight

RF Justin Starcore, Starport Nuka Hubologists, Jr

Star player of the Hubologists. Last season, he hit .320 with 17 home runs and 40 RBI. He hit 20 home runs the year before, which makes him the all-time home run king entering his third season. Starcore is a future 1st-round draft pick in the Season Pass Association draft as one of the best prospects to come out of the Bradberton area.

5 Teams Can Claim Division Lead in April

Five teams currently are tied for their division lead with the other five Vim! League teams needing to step it up.

In the Fog Division, three teams have fought their way into the league lead. The Eden Meadows Anglers have been the hottest of those three, winning their last four. The reason the Anglers have been able to tie is because the Rayburn Point Patcheyes have lost three straight. The Brooke's Head Behemoths round out the division.

In the Harbor Division, the Acadia Acadians have won five straight to tie the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers. The bottom three all trail by at least four games.

Standings

Player Spotlight: MYL

SS Harter Kalonia, Diamond Cove Fort Knights - Kalonia is in his second year. He played in 40 games and started 38 in his first year. He batted .279 with 5 home runs and 12 RBI. He is considered a leader and a great prospect for a future Season Pass Association draft.
