Final 2050 Regular Season Standings and Rays Stats

An unfamiliar sight with a different team atop the AL East. Despite going down for the season with an injury on September 11, Juan Viatoro accumulated enough plate appearances to qualify for and win the AL batting title.

This team quite simply was the worst defensive team I've ever assembled, and consider how many poor ones I've had over the years, that's really saying something. You can tell that the pitching wasn't that bad since we were 2nd in WAR yet 13th in ERA in the AL, and all those extra hits allowed were the difference. The big change this year from last was the two best defenders we had either lost their ability to play effective D (Morioka) and went free agent (Chris Parham). And Henry Murillo broke his hand after we acquired him to provide good-glove, no-hit play at SS.

Next year I'm going to make a real effort to improve the D even at the expense of the O but for now we are what we are.

Nothing not to like about these numbers as usual.

Just look at those BABIPs and weep, I'm sure these pitchers did.
