If you are using historical transactions and lineups, the rosters may vary (as players are sometimes activated a little before they actually appeared, it's hard to get exact roster sizes daily).

<had my dates wrong so will slyly edit this so nobody sees me make a mistake>. Sometimes players in the DB will be tagged with injuries for temporary situations, even if they may not have missed actual time in real life (I do somewhat remember him being hurt in the pre-season, but he returned in time for opening day, I think?). So in your game, he should return in a day or two. You can check in the league transactions page, the historical transactions tab has a list of everything that will be done - you can search by player in there to see what is tagged in the system.
