July began with a nice winning streak, but by August 1 we are 51-51, still in fourth place, but only 5 games out. We are still in this. It has stayed Cubs, Cards, Pirates, Mets all season long in that order.
Singleton and Staub, each with 6 homers lead the team in that category. Lack of power is our big weakness.
The rotation and bullpen are our big strengths. In other words, we are the late 60s, early 70s Mets.
