One of the stranger results of the AHBL has been the glorious career of Ralph Caldwell. The ace of the first place Chicago Firemen is a 4-time all-star having made the squad three times with the Boston Bayonets. He led the league in 1909 with a 1.97 ERA and had a 1.74 mark the year before. He may well win the Ace Award in 1912, at 18-11 and 1.80. His career in the majors lasted 2 years and 75 innings.
