Fred Snodgrass came into the AHBL at full tilt, winning the Rookie of the Year Award in 1908 and the MVP in 1909 and leading his St. Louis Explorers to championships in both years. Since then he has slowed down and so has St. Louis. His OPS was 651 last year and 652 this year. The Explorers have a lot of pitching but they need Snodgrass and others to hit, they are currently 15th in batting average.
