MLB news: April 15 -- Pirates' Gonzalez and Cardinals' Cuevas suspended after brawl
Major League Baseball has suspended St. Louis Cardinals pitcher William Cuevas and Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Jacob Gonzalez after they ignited a bench-clearing brawl during the Pirates' 9-2 win on Tuesday in Pittsburgh.
Gonzalez charged the mound in the third inning after Cuevas hit him with a pitch.
The previous batter, Daulton Varsho, had led off the inning with a home run to make it 2-0.
Gonzalez will sit for four games. Cuevas will be out for nine.
