Cards news: May 15 -- Tre Fletcher sent back to AAA, Jordan Walker recalled from Memphis
The St. Louis Cardinals have returned outfielder Tre Fletcher to AAA Memphis and recalled outfielder Jordan Walker from the Redbirds.
Fletcher, 24, was called up to the majors on April 22 and had an immediate impact with hits in his first seven games, including two homers and five RBIs.
But over his past seven games he has gone 0 for 19 with 13 strikeouts.
Getting called back to the majors, where he began the season, is the 22-year-old Walker.
He began the season in the majors, but hit just .161 with two homers and six RBIs over 16 games.
After being sent to AAA, Walker has flourished hitting .312 with 12 homers and 23 RBIs in 20 games.
