Alan Zinter's tenure as the St. Louis Cardinals hitting coach proved to be short as he has been fired after just 41 games (19-22) and will be replaced by Jing-Bo Hsiao.
Brought in to help upgrade an offense which ranked among the league's worst in 2024, the Cardinals have only gotten worse in 2025.
Through 41 games, they are hitting just .213 (15th in the NL) with 155 runs scored (14th).
Their 452 strikeouts also are 30 more than any other team in the National League.
