My intention was to play from 1951 and cover the entire careers of Mays, Mantle, Aaron, and Bonds. I don't have retire according to history enabled. Bonds didn't retire after 2007 as he did historically. The Twins signed him and due to his poor fielding used him only as a pinch hitter.

After 2008 he didn't retire. On a 20 scale my scout has him as contact 7, power 10, eye 16, LF 1. He hit two HRs in 07 and is 67 behind the all time leader Mark McGwire. He's not going to catch McGwire.

2009 starts a new era for the Pirates. Its the rookie seasons of Andrew McCutchen and Neil Walker. I don't want to play this era and I'm not going to do it just because Bonds wants to be a 60 or 70 AB PH for the year. So I'm ending it here, Fall of 2008.

This has been a fun experience. It increased my GM skill and I really enjoyed writing the "newspaper" articles.
