The St. Louis Cardinals have traded first baseman Wilmer Flores to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for left-handed relief pitcher Ryan Weathers.
The Cardinals best hitter in spring training, that success didn't carry over to the regular season for Flores, who hit just .162 with one homer and seven RBIs in 24 games/20 starts.
In Weathers, the Cardinals hope to boost a struggling left-handed side of their bullpen.
The 25-year-old has pitched in 28 games for the A's, going 4-3 with a 3.92 ERA.
