Final Score: Guardians 4, Angels 1
Game Summary
Both teams threatened in the 2nd, but the first scoring of the night came once again on a Jose Ramirez solo HR in the 4th (getting some serious deja vu now). Vinnie Pasquantino followed with a no-outs double, but was stranded (really big deja vu here indeed). Alcantara shut it down for 2 more innings before Pasquantino doubled again, this time with Bo Naylor driving him in with a single to make it 2-0. Alcantara finally ran into trouble in the 8th, as the Angels got the first 2 batters on base. Alcantara struck out the next 2, but a RBI single by Adam Frazier cut the lead to 1. Emmanuel Clase entered to face ALDS MVP Anthony Rendon, and with help from RF George Valera's diving catch, he retired him, lead intact.
The Guardians got a chance to add insurance in the bottom of the 8th, and Austin Hedges came up to face RP Oliver Ortega with the bases loaded and 2 outs. He came through with a 2-run single to make it 4-1. Brandon Marsh came to the plate representing the tying run with 2 outs in the 9th, but Clase struck him out to end it.
