State of the Team

The team went 19-8 in Spring Training, the best record in MLB. Updated Preseason Predictions has us going 100-62, 2nd to only the 101-61 Mets in MLB. It should be another exciting season.

News Dump

The battle for the 5th SP spot was won by Tanner Burns (2.5, 3.0, #94 Overall), who had a 0.53 ERA and 1.96 FIP along with a 7.5 K/BB this spring. In another roster storyline, C Bo Naylor is expected to get regular DH duties.

Everyone who did not make the Opening Day Roster was optioned to AAA Columbus, aside from SS Owen Miller (2.5, 2.5) and RF Matt Vierling (2.5, 2.5), who were DFA'd after struggling in spring, and LF Yohendrick Pinango (2.0, 4.0), who was returned to his original team after being selected by the Guardians in the Rule 5 Draft.

Additionally, SP Ethan Hankins (2.0, 2.5) was sent to the 60-Day IL with radial nerve compression that will keep him out for 5 months.
