Cards news: July 20 -- Three Cardinals will head to All-Star game
A trio of St. Louis Cardinals have been named members of the National Legue roster for the annual All-Star game.
Named to the NL rosters as reserves are infielder Nolan Gorman, starting pitcher David Matos and relief pitcher Guillermo Zuniga.
It will be the first All-Star appearance for all three players.
Gorman, 25, has batted .256 with 26 homers, 58 RBIs and 61 runs scored in 88 games this season.
Gorman is in his third full major-league season, all with St. Louis.
The right-handed Matos, 25, is 9-4 with a 2.76 ERA in 20 starts.
Matos is in his third season with the Cardinals after immigrating from Cuba
Zuniga, a 26-year-old left-hander, is in his second major league season and his first with the Cardinals.
He broke in with the Philadelphia Phillies.
In 46 games this season, Zuniga is 2-1 with a 3.05 ERA and no saves.
