Esteban Alvarado, an 18-year-old third baseman, has been named to the National League team for the Prospects Game
Signed as a free agent out of the Dominican Republic, Alvarado is in his first season in the St. Louis system.
Playing in the Dominican Rookie League, he has gotten into 30 games and batted .235 with one homer, 14 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
