No. You think of something like deGrom. #272 pick that was supposed to replace Gonzalez Germen (oof) in the pen, until Dillon Gee's arm also fell off, and the Mets were forced to toss him to the Yankees as fodder, thus finding themselves a 2-time Cy Young by accident.
Fried especially was a #7 pick. Strider was taken in the fourth round, perhaps for injury concerns (he had Tommy John the year before he was drafted out of college).
Mets are doomed. And it's not even May.
