Once again the Rays' bats were slow to waken, and they couldn't quite do enough as Oakland evened up the series after getting a run off
Tommy Burpee in the 8th.
Kevin DiCostanzo still showed the rust of missing most of the season and it seems as though his stamina might be a casualty of his injury. Although he's still rated 60 stamina I suspect that will come down the next time the scouts take a look at him as he ran out of gas by the 4th today. They trailed 3-0 but solo homers from
Billy Carlow, Kelly Crumpton and
Nate Strickland in the 6th evened things up, and they had men on first and third in the 8th with two out but
Danny Arroyave's liner to left was caught and they went 1-2-3 in the 9th. So it will be up to
Chris Ferguson to restore a series advantage in two days in Oakland.
