Game Summary
The Guardians got it started at Kauffman Stadium with a sac fly by J.C. Correa to take a 1-0 lead in the 2nd, then loaded the bases for Jose Ramirez in the 3rd. Ramirez came through with a 2-run single on an 0-2 count to make it 3-0 Guardians, a good sign for the Guardians' chances to sweep the series. Ramirez got another chance with RISP in the 5th and came through with a 2-out RBI double to extend the lead to 4-0. Sandy Alcantara was cruising with just 1 hit allowed through 5 as Matt Vierling got in on the action with a RBI double to make it 5-0, and Andres Gimenez followed with a RBI single to make it 6-0 in the 6th. The Royals then figured out Alcantara, though, scoring 3 runs on 3 straight hits before Alcantara retired the feared Nick Pratto and Salvador Perez to stop the bleeding. The Royals brought Nick Pratto up as the tying run in the 8th against Emmanuel Clase, and he got a lot of one that flew deep to right center field, but was caught at the track to end the inning. James Karinchak pitched a 1-2-3 9th inning to complete the sweep with a 6-3 Guardians victory.
