Game Summary
The Rangers showed their might quickly as Mitch Haniger drove in the first run of the game on a RBI double in the 1st, giving the Rangers a quick 1-0 lead. Mitch Haniger doubled again to begin the 4th, but it seems only he had Shane Bieber figured out as he was stranded. The Guardians seemed stumped by Alexander Beltre until Vinnie Pasquantino hit a 2-run HR after a J.C. Correa single to put the Guardians in front with nobody out in the 5th. Luis Campusano finally woke up as well, going back-to-back with Pasquantino to make it 3-1, and ALDS MVP Andres Gimenez continued his torrid run with a 1-out double. George Valera worked a 2-out walk, setting the stage for Jose Ramirez, who broke the game wide open with a 3-run blast to cap off a 6-run 5th inning for the Guardians. Matt Vierling kept it rolling next inning, driving in Vinnie Pasquantino with a RBI single before scoring on a Carlos Correa RBI single, making it 8-1 Guardians. Andres Gimenez made it a laugher in the 8th with a 3-run HR, a shocking outcome given how badly the Guardians were scuffling for the first four innings. The Rangers wilted once the 5th was over, and the final score held 11-1.
