Game Summary
The Guardians showed their fight hasn't diminished despite the brutal loss, as Kyle Tucker jumped Spencer Howard with a solo shot in the 1st, and Carlos Correa hit a 2-out RBI double to make it 2-0. Tanner Burns pitched a clean 1st inning and the Guardians got right back to it as Luis Campusano hit a leadoff double and Matt Vierling drove him in with a single, making it 3-0 Guardians in the 2nd. The Rangers took advantage of their first baserunners in the 4th, with a 2-out double by Leody Taveras followed by a 2-run HR by Nick Solak to make it a one-run game. Corey Seager extended the rally with a double, but Mitch Haniger was retired to end the threat. The Rangers kept the Guardians off the board and then tied it in the 6th on a RBI single by Marcus Semien, getting the Rangers crowd fully back into the series. The Rangers put the first 2 runners on in the 8th against Emmanuel Clase, but Clase hunkered down and fought out of the jam, keeping the game tied heading into the 9th. Kyle Tucker laced a 1-out double down the line to put the go-ahead run in scoring position, and Jose Ramirez had another signature moment as he ripped a 2-out double off the center field wall to give the Guardians a 4-3 lead. The Rangers put the leadoff man aboard in the 9th, but Emmanuel Clase retired the next three batters to give the Guardians a crucial 3-1 series lead.
