Cards news: May 2 - Chirinos gets five games for instigating brawl
St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Yonny Chirinos has been suspended for six games after he helped start a bench-clearing brawl by hitting the Dodgers' Nolan Jones with a pitch after allowing a home run. Chirinos hit Jones with his first pitch after giving up a home run to Los Angeles' Mookie Betts in the bottom of the second inning.
Jones charged the mound. That will force him to sit out the next three games.
The Dodgers won the game 8-2 to complete a three-game sweep.
