Some notable retirements around the league this offseason are Stan Mikita, Gerry Cheevers, Tony Esposito, and Bernie Parent.

Made somewhat of a big trade with the Canadiens, The Stingers currently lack center depth and have an abundance of wingers so we shipped off longtime player Rick Dudley for the young center Doug Risebrough. This marks the end of the "LSD" line with Blaine Stoughton and Rich LeDuc but was a necessary move to get younger.

A second trade a few days later picking up 4th line center Jude Drouin from the Islanders for basically nothing, our center corps finally has some decent depth to it.

Disappointing pre-season, the schedulers must hate us by putting us up against the Stanley cup champions three times in seven games. Hopefully we can turn it around during the regular season.
