We're all beating around the bush.
The "real" issue is Perfect Team, as it stands today, has a 10 week or so lifespan for customers who can not, or don't want to, pay extra to remain competitive.
The top levels (G-D-P) fill up with top level cards within that time frame, so most customers either get use to bouncing between Silver, Bronze and Gold or they lose interest.
The Whales really have no reason to care about the F2P players. They will continue to invest dollars into their teams to compete with other Whales and will be in either Perfect or Diamond for the duration.
I STILL think that the solution to involve F2P players longer is to slow down the release of high-end cards. Whales will still rise to the top, but competition between teams (and between the levels) will be increased since no one can field a team of all Perfects until late in the game-year. That will ultimately raise the price of the top cards in circulation, but then giving out more rewards won't result in the top teams fielding 26 100s by the All-Star break. The lifespan of anything less than Diamonds might actually make it to the end of the MLB season.
But alas, it's not our game - it's theirs.
PS: If your doubting my evaluation, look at my three teams below. 78 roster spots - almost all Perfects and Diamonds - no investment beyond PT+ - two teams reached Diamond early, but all three teams are now no higher than Gold with records below .500 and no where to go unless they land a lucky pack. Yes, I know, I could play tournaments, and spend hours watching Twitch trying to squeeze every point and pack, but that would basically glue me to my keyboard - more of a job than a game. The game is for "investors" not F2Pers beyond the All Star game.
