The Detroit Tigers are off to the playoffs! They have clinched at least a wild card spot with hopes to win the AL Central title as well. This is their 3rd franchise playoff appearance and 2nd in a row. Three playoff spots remain.
In other news... the Oakland Athletics have been eliminated from playoff contention with an 82-76 record. 5 teams mathematically remain in playoff contention.
