Good 'ol Bob Stanley, "the Steamer." He was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. Odd player, though. Did not look like a ballplayer and threw, was it a palmball I believe? I always felt bad that he like Schiraldi and Buckner, he had it go so badly in Game 6. Just looking at his career stats here...'78 was quite a season. 15-2 2.60 ERA, 140 IP, 10 saves. I'm not sure if that season holds up SABR-wise but at least those stats look pretty impressive.
