Game 6: Fort Hagen 1 at Roxbury 6

Raucous Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury Crowd Propels Rad Sox to 6-1 Victory; Series Tied at 3

The Roxbury Rad Sox and the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud will take the Sole Survivor Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Rad Sox beat the Silver Shroud 6-1 at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Roxbury left-hander Whokill Poole had a big role in the win. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the third inning, but Poole was able to pitch out of a jam. With the bases loaded and Fort Hagen trailing 3-1, Poole retired Ginger Rogers, who grounded out.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Game 7: Fort Hagen 0 at Roxbury 6

Roxbury Rad Sox Are Champs

Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better.

It was the latter case in 2303, as the Roxbury Rad Sox topped the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud 6-0 tonight at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury to win the Sole Survivor Series. It was the 1st title in franchise history.

"When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Roxbury left fielder Young Goodman, who was named series MVP.

The Rad Sox took the series 4-3. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the South Charles Association Railroad League and a 83-37 record.

Roxbury manager Coffee Kupp grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Goodman's words.

"Young said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said.

Hometown officials announced they were already planning a "grand celebration" for the winners in the days to come.

Donn Mattingley was the game MVP. He was 3 for 4 with a double, home run, two runs scored, and three runs batted in.

Note: SP Nuke Laloosh was injured while pitching. He pitched 4.0 innings, allowing two hits and striking out one.
