Game 71: St. Louis Browns vs. Boston Americans

What a strange game! Despite committing 6 errors in the field AND having 6 of its baserunners thrown out while attempting to steal, the Boston Americans (53-18) somehow manager to top the St. Louis Browns (30-41) by a score of 4 to 2.

Noodles Hahn (12-6) picked up the win by allowing 2 runs (0 earned) on 10 hits for a Game Score of 66. Frank Owen pitched a respectable game (2 earned runs on 10 hits, Game Score of 57) but did not factor into the decision. Rube Kisinger (0-1) was assessed the loss after allowing 2 earned runs on 2 hits in just 1/3 inning of play.

The offensive stars of the day for Boston were Chick Stahl (3 for 4, 1 Run, 1 RBI, 1 Stolen Base), Kid Elberfeld (2 for 3, Double, 1 Run), and Jesse Hoffmeister (1 for 1, Home Run, 1 Run, 2 RBIs), while the Browns received help from Patsy Donovan (2 for 3, Double), Jimmy Barrett (2 for 5, 1 RBI), and Parke Wilson (2 for 5).

Player of the Game: Noodles Hahn (Season: #13 / Career: #38)
