Before I buy OOTP, here are some super basic questions:
1. I assume the game is downloaded to a hard drive rather than a web based software, right?
2. Can I force trade players? e.g. I love Jose Rijo & want him on my team. Can I trade him to my Cleveland Indians and give up Carlos Baerga for him? Would it let me trade Bill Wertz for him (I know, that would be totally unfair, but, hey, it's my simulation)??
3. Can I create a player from scratch or time travel a player? Could I put Babe Ruth on my Indians? My brother-in-law, Phil, who was a pretty decent slow-pitch second baseman?
Anything else I should know before I pull the trigger? Thanks!

1. Yes. Others can explain the difference between using Steam and not using Steam, but either way the game is installed to your hd.
2. Yes, as long as you are in Commissioner Mode. Sometimes what I do instead of forcing a trade is simply editing two (or more) players to put them on the team I want them to to be on, and then editing their History panel to reflect the trade. (You can put anything you want in there. For example, you put on Rijo's history panel, "traded to Cleveland in exchange for Carlos Baerga, a bucket of used baseballs, six tubes of Blu-Emu, a $20 Subway gift card, and future considerations.")
3. Yes, you can do all of that.
