The St. Louis Cardinals have been informed that right-handed starting pitcher Shane Bieber has exercised the option on the final year of his four-year contract.
Bieber, 31, signed that deal while a member of the Cleveland Indians.
The Cardinals acquired Bieber in a trade in the offseason before the 2024 season.
Bieber has gone 21-28 in his two years with St. Louis, including a 12-12 campaign in 2026 which included a 4.22 ERA.
He will make $28.4 million in the final year of his deal.
