Cards news: Nov. 19 -- Trade with Giants lands LHP Reggie Crawford for two prospects

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired left-handed relief pitcher Reggie Crawford from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for a pair of prospects, third baseman Keegan Knutson and outfielder Edgar Ramos.
Crawford, 25, has not pitched since the 2025 season when he was coming off a torn rotator cuff.
But prior to that had worked in 152 minor-league games/41 starts going 17-9 with a 3.88 ERA.
An accomplished hitter, he spent the 2026 season at Class A San Jose playing first base.
In 128 games, he hit .310 with 30 homers and 89 RBIs.
Crawford was selected as a pitcher with the 30th pick in the first round of the 2025 draft.
Knutson, 22, split the 2026 season between High-A Peoria and AA Springfield.
In 136 games, he hit .278 with 30 home runs and 87 RBIs.
He was acquired by the Cardinals in the 14th round of the 2025 draft.
Just 18, Ramos split his first professional season between a pair of rookie leagues.
In 60 games, he hit just .201 with seven home runs and 19 RBIs.
Ramos was signed as a free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2024.
